Now a dragonfly???

I use dragonflies in my work alot. I love that that they reflect light. Now today I went out for the paper and a dragonfly was on my steps. Blue Heron, Hawk, Dragonfly. Is my life changing???

The meaning of a dragonfly changes with each culture. The main symbolisms of the dragonfly are renewal, positive force and the power of life in general. Dragonflies can also be a symbol of the sense of self that comes with maturity. Also, as a creature of the wind, the dragonfly frequently represents change. And as a dragonfly lives a short life, it knows it must live its life to the fullest with the short time it has - which is a lesson for all of us.

I will Soar!

I heard a bird yelling! I went outside and across the canal a Blue Heron was sitting on top of my neighbor's screened in pool. What? Usually they are in the trees nearly or along the canal. He was quite proud of himself. Stretching to his full length. I thought what a delight to see that.

Blue Heron - The Meaning:

According to North American Native tradition, the Blue Heron brings messages of self-determination and self-reliance. They represent an ability to progress and evolve. The long thin legs of the heron reflect that an individual doesn't need great massive pillars to remain stable, but must be able to stand on one's own.

Blue Herons have the innate wisdom of being able to manoeuvre through life and co-create their own circumstances. Blue Herons reflect a need for those with this totem to follow their on unique wisdom and path of self-determination. These individuals know what is best for themselves and need to follow their hearts rather than the promptings of others. Those with the Medicine of the Great Blue Heron may sit until the rest of us loose patience. And, when they follow the promptings of the heart, they are one of the most magnificent when they choose to soar.

This is the message that Blue Heron brings.

Back in my studio I heard a bird screeching!!! Look out the window, saw nothing. Screeching!!!, looked again, nothing, Screeching!!!!!! Ok, Ok, I am getting up, going outside. Saw nothing. Screeching!!!! I looked  up and on my roof was a very proud Hawk. We eyed each other, he pranced around, screeched and flew off.

Hawk Symbolism

Hawks are visionaries and messengers
If one is undergoing a difficult passage to know that just over the next hill is freedom and liberation if one keeps going can be a Godsend in supporting the person to keep moving forward! Likewise, if the path is not appropriate, Hawk Medicine can alert one to this and point out a far more favourable path.

Our Beaches are Fabulous on Marco Island

Art Hoarder!

Art Hoarder!!!

Yep that's me, when its your stuff you never seem to mind. But when my back went out I knew it was time to have my studio cleaned.  So I had to hire someone. I started rambling about my back yada yada, and how I couldn't clean or organize.....but in reality I like a little clutter, I like having every known paint product at my disposal. I like feeling there is always more to do. I feel I can not throw it away, may need to be included in my work....who knows. Next time I will have the tv show Hoarders come and film.
